Heaven like the place does exist

Entering the valley of Phobjikha (Picture by Deki)

Life is unpredictable so when you are independent in your life you should travel to explore the beauty of motherland  "Bhutan". In my life, I never thought that I will be traveling and will be exploring the unexplored beauty of my country. Being a domestic traveler I started traveling around the country and made me believe that heaven does exist.

Making my three days and two nights trip to Phobjikha valley under Wangduephodrang Dzongkhag ( District) is like dream come true. We took almost five hours from the capital city "Thimphu" to reach Phobjikha. When we entered the valley the sky was clear and the Phobjikha valley was welcoming us with the valley filled with a yellow flower. It was like a fantasy world that we are entering.

Fall in love with the elegant scenery of the valley (Picture by Deki)

Our humble and generous host Aum Sonam and her family of Sonam Yuden homestay in Phojikha made our stay so beautiful that we felt like we all are with our own family back at home. There are tourists standard hotel in Phobjikha but than the charm of staying in farmhouse gives you the true happiness of people welcoming you with an open heart at their house. You will be treated as same as a family member of the host, will be having the same three course of the meal with them and will be sleeping same like them on the floor.

The weather was perfect with no rain and we started our day by visiting Gangtey Goenpa " monastery" and offered butter lamp and prayers for all the suffering sentient beings.

Gangtey Sanga Choling Goenpa was built by the grandson and reincarnation of Pema Lingpa in the year 1613 and later it was renovated by the second reincarnation of Pema Lingpa. Today the monastery is headed by the Gangtey Trulki Kunzang Pema Namgyal the ninth reincarnation of Pema Lingpa. It was said that during the 15th century Pema Lingpa prophesied that a monastery would be built on this site and his teaching would spread here on.

In this monastery the painting of Zangtopelri inside the Guru Lhakhang, it's believed that one of the incarnations of Pema Lingpa seat is still empty in heaven because he has come down to earth to spread his teaching for the sentient beings.

After finished visiting Gangtey Goenpa we went to visit another monastery but sadly it was locked and could not make a visit. The monastery was beautifully surrounded by flowers and green grass which makes it looks more heaven on earth.

After lunch program, sightseeing around the valley. One of the most famous place for the Bhutanese filmmaker spot to film their movies with the beautiful scenery. The view from this spot is spectacular and it makes you stop blink your eyes for a moment to catch this beautiful scenery.

The best season to visit Phojikha and enjoy the yellow valley (Picture by Gtobden)

The best thing about traveling is that it gives you the glimpse of the heaven that exists in the land of thunder dragon (Land of Happiness) only.

Stay tuned for my new travel post.

JOURNEY To BUMDRA

It took us seven hours approximately to reach at the base camp. Why seven hours? , must be wondering why we took this much time to reach up, well the reason behind takng time is because we are doing clean up along the trek route till the base camp.

Bumdra Trek is one of the famous trek visited by both international and domestic visitors throughout the year. This time also i took the same route, starting point from Sangachor where we can enjoy watching the elegant view of  Paro valley. My second trip to this place made me fall in love again.

Sangachokor Monastery was built by Zhabdrung Cholay Shacha Tenzin, the incarnation of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in the year 1965. The monastery was burnt when the fire outbreak in the year 1932 and in 1970. Later the monastery was re- built by Yab Dasho Ugyen Dorji in the year 1980.

Once upon a time in PARO when the rise of morning glory

    Short break for photo session

    Walking into the black forest

Reaching the first monastery on the way to Bumdra and enjoying the view from the top
Colours of Happiness on the top waving for the valley

Reaching the base camp and my friend were super excited for making it through

Sharing the happiness together for being there for each other all this time

So much change happen on this spot ( Picture from my first visit to this place)

Bumdra monastery located at an altitude of 3700m is believed to be built during the 11th century and it also believed that one lakh tara (angels) have left the footprint on the rock which the monastery was built, even now we can see the footprints of the angels inside the monastery.

After  finished visiting  Bumdra monastery we walk up top of mountain so that we can  make visit to Guru Rimpoche Hat and the cremation ground. Witnessing this beautiful view from the heaven earth.

The rock which look like hat is believed to be hat of Guru Rimpoche .

And in this place people used to offer dead bodies of a child below twelve years to the vultures.

This all about Bumdra. While returning back we took the other route and on our way we made       offering and visited few old monastery which are very important.

Yoelsalgang Monastery is believed to be built in the year 660 A.D marking one of the oldest monastery in Bhutan. The two storeyed monastery consists of the Kargyud lamai lhakhang on the top and the ground floor is Guru Tshengye Lhakhang.

Ugyentshemo monastery was built in 1508 and later it was renovated by the Queen mother Ashi Phuntsho Choden.

Back of the Ugyentshemo monastery the view gives you the feeling of you living in the paradise

Goodbye and see you again from the halfway  to Taktshang monastery. It was always an        wonderful journey to this sacred place in the kingdom of Bhutan. I couldn't write much as i am new and thank you so much for viewing and supporting me.
